Our mission is to help members of our community to improve physically and mentally through Jiu-Jitsu, Self Defense and Fitness practices.
We looking forward to accomplish this by providing a friendly, professional top level Jiu-Jitsu and Personal training experience that challenges our students in a safe, clean environment. Our main goal is to encourage all to make healthy exercises habits part of our lives.
About us
Welcome to the WDC Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Fitness Academy. Our academy is Takoma Park premier source for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Self Defense and Personal Training. The academy is located at 720 Erie Ave on the corner of Erie Ave and Flower Ave less than two blocks away from the Washington Adventist University. We are a unique martial arts school and fitness academy in the DMV area.
WDC BJJ was established in 2015 by Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, international athlete and professor Deivid Dias. Professor Dias is a GFTeam Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt and accomplished Jiu-Jitsu competitor worldwide.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a self-defense martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting and submission holds. It focuses on the skill of controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position and using a number of techniques to force them in to submission via joint locks or chokeholds.
For all Practitioners Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu offers a system of simple self-defense techniques that work whether you are big and strong or of a small frame.

Self-Defense
What is the purpose of self defense?
The goal of self defense is to prevent injury to yourself. Most of the time, the vast majority of the time, physical techniques are not the best way to do that. The best way to avoid injury is to prevent an attack from occurring in the first place, to prevent a physical conflict.

Personal Training
My goal as your personal trainer is to create one-on-one personal fitness program by setting realist goals for my clients, motivating and guiding them to achieve their goals. If your goal is to lose weight, improve your cardio, get more flexible or gain muscle.
I will delivery positive results. As a certified personal trainer I'll teach and help you to exercise properly using workouts and specific plans.
