Monir Salomão

Monir Salomão was a black belt of Oswaldo Fadda and the founder of the Academia Monir de Jiu-Jitsu in Rio de Janeiro. In this lineage he is the bridge: the Fadda root on one side of him, GFTeam on the other.

A ten-year-old boy named Júlio César Pereira walked into Monir's academy and stayed — Monir trained him from his first classes all the way to black belt. That boy grew up to found GFTeam, one of the greatest teams in the sport.

Deivid never trained under Monir — but every technique taught at GFTeam DC passed through his hands on its way down the line.
